Some of you may remember Gerry Cook as the quiet, competitive kid from high school, in which case, you didn't really know him.  I first met Gerry (and his brother Kenny) at the age of 12, during the summer playing baseball;  he attended South and I attended East, so we didn't meet up again until hight school.

We hung out some in high school and epecially afterward in the college years.  Gerry was always fun to be with and opened up when he was with friends.  We played softball together and had a lot of fun times too numberous to mention.  We ended up marrying sisters, so now in addition to being best friends, we were also family.

Since 2003, we have played golf for a week in the Orlando area in March, along with other classmates.  Unfortunately, September of 2020 was the last time he was able to play golf, when he was diagnosed.

He battled for 2 years before passing.

He'll be greatly missed.
